- 14 June 2004 at 13:24 Jojar S. Dhinsa was today named as the President of The Alchemists, a select network that seeks to stimulate the growth of early stage enterprises in partnership with The University of Surrey, University of Reading, Brunel University and Royal Holloway University College London who form a unique collaboration in support of the Alchemists network. In addition, Surrey and Reading Enterprise Hubs are integral to identifying and promoting technology businesses with funding and mentoring requirements. Individuals are selected to be part of the Alchemists based on their ability and desire to mentor and invest in early stage enterprises and work with individuals who have previous business experience and the ‘resources’ required to facilitate a company’s growth to the next stage. Membership is limited to 100 individuals to provide a platform for a peer group network that will be given recognition by and enjoy involvement with the partner universities. Mr. Dhinsa, Chairman and CEO of the Athlone Group, has founded and successfully managed several businesses in Europe and Asia and leads the development and execution of the Group’s worldwide strategy. He is focused on identifying and facilitating investment opportunities and strategic relationships to drive the growth of Athlone and its clients. In recognition of his personal success and the success of Athlone over the last 12 months, he was recently named Asian Newcomer of the Year at the 2004 Asian Business Awards. About Athlone The Athlone Group builds, markets and delivers a high value portfolio of measurable start up, turnaround and business acceleration services for technology vendors, which positively impact a client’s ability to achieve corporate objectives. The Athlone approach is to develop ‘free agency’ engagements between the client, Athlone and the Athlone network which are driven by results rather than by political, social or environmental factors leaving the management team free to focus on corporate and personal core competencies. |
