Design and Master Planning of Project

Athlone Group’s mission when assisting in the design and planning of all roadway and bridge construction is to assure that the process is simple and concise with the wishes of the client to be the central objective. By working closely with the client’s approving body, Athlone is able to present multiple scenarios based upon the goal of the client.

Clearing, Excavation, and Grading of Roadway/Bridge

All land preparations are done here. Removal of trees, rock, and any other object in the path of the roadway occur.

The roadbed is graded and leveled.

Compacting and Sub Layer Installation

Once the prepatory work has been done, a deep layer of gravel is brought in and compacted to form the base of the roadbed.

Further layers are added to assure that the roadbed is solid and settled in advance of the top layer.

Final Grade of the Roadbed

After the gravel has been applied and compacted, the road is graded again to assure a smooth foundation for the top layer

Further layers are added and graded to assure that the engineered specifications of the road are met.

Depending on the location of the roadway, asphalt or concrete is poured as the top layer of the roadway

This is then rolled, finishing the top layer of the roadway
